On 13 March 2026, IDEALIST hosted an Expert-to-Expert webinar dedicated to Zero-Defect Manufacturing, bringing together 55 participants to explore practical approaches to advanced quality assurance in industrial production.
The online session focused on how manufacturers can move closer to zero-defect production by improving their capacity to detect, predict, repair and prevent defects across manufacturing processes.
More than 50 participants joined the webinar, which combined expert perspectives with practical industrial use cases and concrete approaches to improving quality, efficiency and reliability.
From defect detection to prevention
Zero-Defect Manufacturing goes beyond identifying problems at the end of a production line. The webinar addressed a broader approach covering the different stages of quality management, from early defect detection and prediction to corrective action and prevention.
This perspective is increasingly relevant for manufacturers seeking to reduce waste, improve process reliability and strengthen the overall efficiency of production systems.
The discussion highlighted how advanced quality assurance can support more robust manufacturing processes while helping companies make better use of data, digital tools and technological innovation.
Expert insights from across industry and research
The session featured contributions from:
- Janusz Poplawski, Researcher at LORTEK and Coordinator of the FlashComp project;
- Christophe Roua, CEO at COGIT Composites;
- Alain Fanet, CEO at BonzAI;
- Anton Evdokimov, Founder & CEO at Heatshape.io.
The webinar was introduced by Alysée Cibil, European Project Manager at CIMES and Coordinator of the IDEALIST project.
Together, the speakers shared different perspectives on quality assurance and defect management, illustrating how innovative technologies and industrial know-how can be combined to improve production performance.
Making quality a driver of industrial performance
The webinar showed how Zero-Defect Manufacturing can be approached not only as a quality-control objective, but as part of a broader industrial strategy.
By anticipating defects earlier, improving process control and integrating more advanced monitoring and decision-support solutions, manufacturers can reduce inefficiencies and improve the reliability of production.
